Seems like Nintendo’s Wiimote controller has been in the works way longer than most people would believe. Ryan of CyberNet News found a patent from 1993 on Google Patent Search, which describes a device looking strikingly similar to the ingenious remote controller. The patent even mentions the device to be used specifically for a Nintendo console.

Llama.com has a feature on an XBox 360 Mod, that also involves some serious case modding. I consider this a very well done mod, as it looks a lot cooler than the original device. Aparently they also managed to bring the fan voltage up to 12V, resulting in better airflow and a cooler system, as well as implanting a 60GB notebook hard drive.

Next to Pac Man, the old Space Invaders is probably the best known video game classic. And along with Tetris it might be one of the games with the most remakes. Now Nintendo has announced there will be a Space Invaders for their new Nintendo DS. As it seems, they even got Tomohiro Nishikado, the developer of the original Space Invaders Arcade, to oversee the development of the new version.

According to Boing Boing the Matrix Online MMORPG has hired 20 actors to play key characters like Morpheus in the game world. They are supposed to be interacting with regular players to push and advance the stories inside the game.

TrackIR is a head mounted decvice that keeps track of a persons head movement. It allows to control FOV in racing and flight simulator games by simply moving the head. It works with infrared light and a camera on top of the display that recognizes the heads position. Price range is from $109 to $139 for the pro version.
